EMA History
Known originally as the Northwest Printed Circuit Association, the EMA was founded in 1974 and has served the electronics community for over 25 years. EMA has evolved along with technology to meet the developing needs of the electronics manufacturing community. In early 2007 the organization was "refocused" to place more emphasis on the way industry is operating today. The emphasis today, as in the past, continues to be promoting the exchange of ideas within the electronics manufacturing arena but expands that focus to include design and supply chain management. Today, we have members consisting of all engineering and technology disciplines, purchasing, sales, production management, and supply chain management.
Regular meetings are held at different local companies and usually include a tour of the hosting facility. This gives a unique perspective of what other people are doing and helps knit the manufacturing community. Each meeting has a specific topic with subjects that cover a broad and varied range of interests while focusing on some aspect of the high tech industry. Guided by a strong board of directors with extensive backgrounds in all aspects of the organizational focus, this organization is a must for all people in today's modern manufacturing arena.
